Reyjkavik
- Hallgrimskirkja: church inspired by basalt columns, amazing views of Reykjavik, costs to take the elevator to the top, tickets bought inside the church gift shop, the line for the lift can get very long, go early!
- Solfar (Sun Voyager) Sculpture: located along the bay with views of the mountains in the background, located along a walking/ jogging path
- Laugavegur: main shopping street, cafes, grocery store, clothing stores, Christmas store
- Skólavörðustígur: another main shopping street, cafes, art supply store, galleries, convenience store
- Kolaportid Flea Market: only open on weekends, cheap souvenirs, clothing, jewelry, books, seafood market, Asian food market
- Grotta Lighthouse - northern lights viewing spot for tour buses

- Blue Lagoon: thermal pools, spa treatments, bar

- Thingvellir National Park: said to be the location of Iceland's first Parliament, rocks, cliffs, a lake
- Geysir: very active geyser, sulfur springs.
- Gullfoss: waterfall, walk down the path along the edge to see the complete waterfall. The path is not steep, but it is not paved, has no handrails and may be difficult for those with limited mobility. There is also no guardrail, just a low rope strung between posts. Do not hike down in the winter without crampons for walking on ice.

South Coast
- Black Sand Beach: black sand beaches, basalt rock formations
- Dyrholaey: peninsula with a black arch of lava, can be viewed from black sand beach
